What it is
The accounting reviewer is a desktop application, for Linux and Windows, that MEREBA developed for Parga Asociados. It runs only on the office PCs, with an encrypted local database on each machine, several users and synchronisation between machines. From the A3con ledgers it runs a battery of review checks, proposes the issues and their correction as sheets for A3, and tracks their handling until the review is closed. It keeps the history of each client and compares periodic reviews.

Security
- Local database encrypted with SQLCipher; the key is protected by the operating system, and there is a recovery key.
- Users with a password (Argon2id, at least 12 characters) and session lock after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- The application only goes online to send account-management emails; client data is never sent by email.
- Synchronisation between machines with authenticated encryption, and only with paired machines.
- Automatic daily encrypted backup and an append-only log of changes.

Is it an expert witness service?
